Psilostrophe tagetina
Paperflower
Description
This is a more colorful species than Psilostrophe cooperi but clearly resembles it. Blooms its heart out in spring and summer with bright yellow daisies that dry to a papery texture. Forms a rounded mound to 2' with narrow grey leaves. Short lived but will reseed itself. Thrives in full sun and reflected heat but demands well drained soil and cannot tolerate overwatering. Native from 4,000'-7,000' across the southwest.

Use multiple cycles of irrigation on watering days. Most sprinklers deliver water faster than soils can absorb it.
By breaking up the watering time into smaller segments, runoff can be greatly reduced.
