This great groundcover will grow 9" high and 9' wide and does well in partial or full sun with moderate watering. It produces delicate white flowers that bloom in summer and are surrounded by tiny, bright green leaves. It makes a wonderful lawn alternative. It is prone to frost damage but it is worth this sacrifice.If cut back hard it will releaf quickly and return to it's bright color in no time. Creates a bright green refreshing look in high desert environments.

This fast-growing juniper reaches a size of 5' x 10'. Featherly gray-green foliage is prickly and has a nice fragrance when crushed. Native to China.

This is one of the few plants that can attach itself securely to wood, masonry, or metal. Because there is no limit to its size, it can overcome an entire buliding. It is most often found in colder climates. This vine will not climb on southern or western walls.

This medium-size weeping tree will grow to about 40' tall and has a whitish/brown bark with deciduous green leaves.

The rosette of this plant consists of fleshy gray green leaves, which are narrow, succulent and erect with soft spines on margins. This Aloe is a slow to moderate grower. Flowers are spikes of yellow, 2'-3' tall and bloom late winter to summer. This aloe can form large clumps. It will tolerate full to partial sun, needs some supplemental water in heat and good drainage. It attracts hummingbirds. This aloe is a Mediterranean native. Use for burns and abrasions. Frost sensitive, keep protected.

Soils and Compost:

Physical weed control, including mulching, or hand removal protects the watershed from harmful chemicals.

Water Saving Tip:

Apply a 2" layer of mulch around plants to reduce moisture loss.

Choose organic mulches, such as shredded bark, compost, or aged sawdust.

Inorganic mulches such as gravel are also acceptable.

Develop healthy soil for plants that are vigorous and naturally pest-resistant.
