Anemone X hybrida
Japanese Anemone
Description
Japanese anemone is an herbaceous perennial that can reach 2'-3' tall and 2'-2.5' wide. It blooms in late summer with rosy pink flowers that have yellow centers. Anemone looks great in a woodland or English cottage garden setting. Soil should be kept moist but not soggy. It needs good drainage. Foliage may burn in hot, dry locations so it's best to plant in shade or semi-shade. This plant spreads slowly but can naturalize.
